St Judes School

I always go to op-shops. I always come back with books. My daughter warns me that I cannot buy anymore books before I have read all I have at home. But I did anyway. Included in my finds was a book called St Judes. A story of a school that was founded by an Australian girl in Arusha Tanzania. The book changed my heart and I wanted to be part of it. Even in a small way. I pray that God show me the need there.
Ive reached out to them, selling a dental program that my dentist friend, Aninke, is running. I think they are interested.
The story of St Judes to me was courage. How you cant help everyone but you can help one person. Her name is Gemma
She fell in love with a man from Tanzania who was patient and giving. She got land from her father in law and build a small building which became the first school with 3 pupils. Only the poorest were accepted. Only one of each family. The aim was to fight poverty through education. One child at a time. God opened doors for her just as he does for all of us. We all can do something. I wanted to help. I wanted to be involved. I started to follow her, sign up to emails from the school and got in contact with them. We are going.
